Terms of Use

FlavorMap · last updated 15 August 2026

These terms apply to the FlavorMap app for iPhone. By using the app you agree to them. Where they are silent, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies.

1. What you get

FlavorMap gives you a catalogue of recipes from cuisines around the world, a world map to browse them by country, a cooking mode with timers, a week planner, a shopping list and an AI feature that invents a recipe from ingredients you have at home. New recipes are added over time.

2. Free trial and subscription

Every new account gets seven days of full access, free, starting the moment you sign in. No payment details are needed for the trial and it does not renew into anything by itself.

After those seven days you can keep browsing the map, the countries and the search results for free, and open a limited number of full recipes per week. Unlimited access is available as a purchase:

PlanPrice
Yearly subscription€69.99 per year
Lifetime€149.00, one time

Prices may differ per country and are always shown in the App Store before you confirm. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. A yearly subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends; you manage and cancel it in your Apple ID settings, not in this app. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policy.

3. Recipes are information, not advice

Cooking times, temperatures and quantities are given in good faith, but you are responsible for what happens in your kitchen. Check that food is cooked through, particularly meat, poultry, eggs, fish and shellfish.

4. Diet labels and allergies

Diet filters such as vegetarian, vegan or halal-friendly are a tool, not a guarantee. "Halal-friendly" means the recipe contains no pork, no alcohol and no gelatine; it is not a statement about certified slaughter.

If you have a food allergy, read the ingredients yourself every time. Filters can be wrong, ingredients differ per brand, and a recipe you generate with the AI feature has not been checked by anyone. FlavorMap cannot be relied upon for allergy safety.

5. AI-generated recipes

Recipes created by the AI feature are marked as such in the app. They are generated by a language model, have not been cooked or tested by us, and may be wrong. Treat them as a suggestion. There is a daily limit on how many you can generate.

6. Your account

You sign in with Apple. Keep access to your Apple ID; it is the only way we can recognise your purchase. You can delete your account inside the app at any time (Settings → Delete account), which removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting the app alone does not delete your account.

7. Fair use

Do not attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer the app or its servers, and do not republish the recipe catalogue as your own. The app, its texts, photography and design are protected by copyright.

8. Availability and changes

We may add, change or remove features, and the app may occasionally be unavailable. If we change these terms in a way that affects you, the new version appears here with a new date.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

10. Law and contact

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of your own country of residence.
